AI Dashcam Driver Privacy Policy (Sample)

Purpose
- Improve safety through in-cab alerts and post-trip coaching.
- Provide incident evidence for disputes and insurance claims.

What is captured
- Forward road video; optional inward cabin video.
- AI-detected events (phone use, distraction, tailgating, speeding, harsh braking).
- Time, location, speed, and vehicle ID.
- Audio: OFF by default (enable only with legal review).

Retention
- Routine clips: 30–90 days
- Risk events: 6–24 months
- Collision clips: 3–7 years (depending on insurer/legal)

Access & control
- Access is role-based; every view is logged.
- Drivers may request their footage and contest an event.
- No use of inward video for non-safety monitoring (e.g., productivity).

Transparency
- Stickers/signage in the cabin.
- Driver handbook and induction training include this policy.

Appeals & coaching
- Events can be appealed in-app within 7 days.
- Coaching rubric: risk level, context, action plan.

Compliance
- Follows company code, labor law, and applicable privacy regs.
- Cross-border transfers require DPA and SCCs where needed.
